Tropical takes advantage of a sophisticated water shader that provides reflection/refractive properties, foam blending and normal maps. Compared to calmer water, like in Lakeside, this is better at simulating the ocean.
As it was a plane, it gave the problem of the edge being visible against the skybox, as they are different colours. As much as making them as accurate as possible you could still see the cut off, so I had to use Depth of Field to blur the horizon which makes it blend in better.
One struggle was not having as many trees and rocks to work with, as it is a tropical beach so you can't really add much otherwise it becomes too crowded and ruins the view. However, this minimal approach still fits very well and the skybox adds towards it.
