The Fog is a single-player exploration game that was my Year 2 games project during university. This involved applying what we had learned about the research and design process on games development from Year 1 and applying that to a real project.
The Fog revolves around being trapped in a forest surrounded by this sentient toxic fog. Your goal as the player is to navigate around the world and complete various tasks to acquire 4 Elemental Tablets to activate the portal and escape whilst avoiding the dangerous fog.
This was a group project involving a designer, artist and engineer (which was my role) to create a single-player game in 9 weeks. Throughout this time, we had many opportunities to have our work play-tested and even shown at Medway Rapture 2022 alongside other CCCU games. I would have liked to continue this project and developed it a lot more, however due to the small amount of time we had and other projects this was as far as the game got.
